In Holt but still searching for the circus tent hat.

I tried to do an Instagram live, but it didn’t work, so here’s an unpolished video.

My previous videos have had over 10k views, and shared across the world. thank you.

I’m now set up and ready to welcome you in Holt. in

Thank you to .art , my predecessor, for all the tips. It was lovely to meet who is taking over from me next week.

But now it’s time to sew, drink tea and enjoy the sunshine.

This week I’m returning to in , taking over the space from .art . Do pop in and see her if you in Holt today!

I’ll be sitting sewing and making, so if you’ve wondered how a hat is made, come and watch me at work.

Oh, and I’ll be bringing an assistant . An even smaller version of me, who won’t try and talk hats with you. But she will let you choose her wardrobe. Thank you for capturing me playing fashion designer!

The perfect first trip out post surgery. Really helpful when one of your best friends, , not only shares your passion for creating, but also happens to be a nurse. She really was an absolute gem of a chauffeur and tray carrier!

A super day out , a great new venue and some super new stalls. In fact it’s tempted me to think of putting some of my workshops into kits….

I had some great inspiration for new and existing projects for

- a circular mini loom and some Yorkshire buttons from - of course for millinery related things
- a few mini blocks from after my success on printing on a paper capeline with ._lydia
- some shell buttons from HabyWarehouse for a collar
- findings from - Chrystal Rose designs who so patiently explained how 5e clasps worked. these are for my Dorset buttons.. and leather flowers

I was sorely tempted by the ribbon flowers by , and the clock from .

And it wouldn’t be a day out without sharing some stories with who I hold wholly responsible for introducing me to textiles east!

Super to chat with the ladies from Prickwillow Art Space too. I feel there might be some trips for ‘screen printing Sundays’

Over the past year, I’ve had to slow down and rethink what and how I make. It’s not been easy. I’m not good at sitting still and have tended to focus on what I can’t do rather than what I can.

So, in an attempt to force myself to be kind to myself and pace myself post shoulder operation, I thought I’d set myself a target - sharing some creative steps I’m taking during my rehab.

Welcome to ‘Rehaberdashery’ - a documentation what my hands can do on my rehab journey. I’ve even set myself a stretch goal of blogging about my progress…

I’m expecting most to be hat and textile related, but it’s more the act of making that’s important to me. Sharing it publicly is a way of making me do it . Much as I think watching ‘Outrageous’ and ‘Bridgerton’ are research projects, actually moving from the sofa is probably a good idea. Rosalind the cat wants it.

This is why there has been a shift in my feed over the past few years! The passion is still there, just channelled differently.

Very much hope I’m back to full scale millinery making next year.
In the meantime, if you do have any requirements, please do get in touch, I have a wonderful network of hat friends who I know will be happy to help
