Ben, founder of bold wanted to do something more. Originally from Birmingham, UK. Ben moved to Salcombe and fell in love with the charm and beauty of the place. Wanting to keep the creative vibes flowing and having many ideas, he set himself upon making Bespoke sailing flags. Salcombe has always had a history in boat building and scenes of Yacht’s / sailing boats graciously sailing down the estuary. This gave the idea for creating one off small quantities of handmade bespoke sailing flags to decorate the walls of homes, instead of the traditional artwork mediums which he was used to doing. From this Ben found his new love for creating patterned flags. The name bold came about from wanting to be different, using his style of bold colours and patterns to put upon this medium with a vivid appearance. Undaunted to try something new. From working full time in the weekdays away from home in Salcombe. Ben decided he wanted to create a studio that he could take anywhere. Which meant he could design and create while on the road… So the studio van was born!
