Today marks our final day of wrapping after five truly incredible weeks filled with kindness, generosity and love.
Thanks to the amazing support of over 500 corporate supporters and volunteers, we have wrapped more than 22,000 gifts for 3,180 children. Each gift has been carefully chosen, wrapped with love, and placed into beautiful handmade Christmas sacks created by our wonderful craft group. For so many of the families we support, these sacks will be the only gifts their children receive this Christmas, making them far more than just presents. They are a reminder that their children are seen, cared for and valued by their community.
Every single gift was bought by our local community for the local community. Behind every sack is a family facing hardship, worry and uncertainty, and a child who now gets to experience the excitement, surprise and magic of Christmas morning just like every other child should.
A very special thank you must go to Becky and Jess, who have led this fast paced and emotionally demanding project from start to finish. From introducing a new CRM back in June to bringing the project to completion this week, they have navigated constant uncertainty around funding, referrals and gift availability with compassion, professionalism and determination.
This project is unlike any other. We never know if there will be enough gifts bought through our Wishlist or Tree of Hope, how many children will be referred, or how to plan for the unpredictable arrival of requests. Every family is contacted individually to ensure each child receives a special gift chosen just for them, while carefully timing deliveries so the magic of Christmas is protected. Despite so many unknowns, Becky and Jess ensured that every possible child was supported and every sack was filled with care and dignity.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, wrapped, crafted, sorted and delivered these Christmas sacks, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Because of you, thousands of children will wake up on Christmas morning to the joy of opening a sack made just for them, and families who feared having nothing will instead experience hope, relief and a little bit of Christmas magic.
We will be sharing more posts and updates over the coming weeks, including feedback and thanks to the many organisations and individuals who helped make this possible ❤️
