The Maclean Brothers are coming to Sheffield.

In 2025, three ordinary brothers from Scotland did something extraordinary. Ewan, Jamie and Lachlan rowed 9,753 miles across the Pacific, non-stop and unsupported. They set out from Peru in a 28-foot boat, set a record, and raised over £1 million for clean water projects in Madagascar. Just a few years earlier, none of them had rowed at all.

On Thursday October 1st they’ll be at Chapel Walk in conversation with Ben Fogle, talking about why they took it on, what it took to reach the other side, and what those months at sea taught them. Afterwards there’ll be time for your questions.

They’ve just released their new book, Three Brothers in a Boat, and they’ll be signing copies on the night, so you can pick one up while you’re there.

Samuel Sheriff MBE spent twenty-two years as a Royal Marines Commando, serving in every Commando Unit going. Arctic, jungle, desert, all of it. He also became the first serving Marine to earn a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt, growing BJJ from nothing into the most popular sport in the Corps.

After leaving the Royal Marines, Sam founded Reorg Charity, using jiu-jitsu to help military, emergency services and veterans through recovery and transition. What started as one man’s idea is now a community reaching right across the UK, awarded an MBE for the work along the way.

Sam first wore Buffalo in 1999, on Commando Training. In the military, it’s known as “warmers kit,” or the “Kabul pashmina.”

The second interview in our Steel & Grit series is with Sam. His time in the Marines, the work REORG does now, and the moment a dry Buffalo shirt made a very wet patrol bearable.

Your dog has been side-eyeing your kit for years. Fair enough.

Say hello to the Buffalo Systems Dog Jacket.

Same Double P System we’ve used since 1979, just reworked for four legs instead of two.

Every one of these is cut and sewn by hand at The Old Dairy in Sheffield, by a team many of whom are dog owners themselves. We’ve had it out in the field on dogs of all shapes and sizes in a variety of terrains.

It comes in two warmth weights to suit your dog’s idea of a good day out: traditional AquaTherm pile from our Mountain Shirt, or lighter micro-pile as used in our O3.

Five sizes are available, in three colourways, Millstone, Black and Purple. Two pockets for the essentials, and reflective stripes so they’re not just a shadow in the dark, plus hook and loop fastening.

250 will be made in this first batch. Available on pre-order only. Delivery between w/c 28th September and mid October, depending on when your order is placed.

We’ve been digging through the archive again.

Old product catalogues. Iconic colourways. One off pieces. Prototypes that never made it further than a sample rail. 47 years of stuff sitting in boxes and old files, some of it barely seen since it was made.

We’re planning the next chapter of the Heritage line. No trend chasing. We want to celebrate the iconic pieces that were built to outlast whatever was thrown at them.

This one’s a Buffalo Windshirt, snapped for Mountain Style, the book documenting British outdoor clothing from 1953 to 2000. That blue and yellow was never subtle, and it wasn’t meant to be. Colours you could spot on a hillside from half a mile off. The original Buffalo label on the chest, and stitching that’s still holding, decades after it was sewn.

So tell us. Better still, show us. Dig out your favourite Buffalo piece, snap it, and tag us in it. The jacket you’ve had for 20 years and won’t retire. Something from an old catalogue you always wanted. A colourway that never should have been discontinued.

Due to popular demand, a second small batch of the anthracite Mountain Shirt and Belay Jacket with arm patch is now available.
 
Same build as always, in a colour that means business, with a hook and loop compatible sleeve patch so you can personalise your kit or change its identity whenever the job requires.

Both products are part of the Buffalo Professional Series, purpose-built colours and kit inspired by the demands of military, mountain rescue and expedition leaders. But they’re also just as at home on a hill walk, a climb, or a day on the bike.

A compatible anthracite hood is available too, if you want to complete the system.

Steel & Grit now comes in a can.

Brewed with our neighbours at Abbeydale Brewery to mark their 30th year, this is a Mountain Pale Ale built on Citra, Mosaic and a brand new hop, HPA 065. Juicy citrus up front, tropical pineapple underneath, a spicy edge from that new hop. Untamed and hazy, with a crisp, bitter finish.

Steel & Grit is Buffalo’s ongoing series of events, interviews and exclusive products, all built around Buffalo DNA. This b**r is part of that. More to come.

Built to move with you.

Constructed using a waterproof ripstop Pertex. Roll-away hood with a peak and an adjustable draw cord, zipped pockets with a Pertex lining, an internal zipped pocket, Velcro cuffs you can adjust on the go. Reflective piping on the shoulder seams.

Doors open at 10am.
