Attention please!⛔️
While our last car boot was a great success, raising a hefty amount to be split between the Church and Village hall, and we're so grateful for everyone who came along to buy and sell, we did have a few issues we'd like to highlight.
Whoever thought leaving a smashed pane of glass behind was a kind and decent thing to do, is going to have to think about what could happen when leaving such a dangerous bit of waste in the middle of a grassy field where children and pets regularly play.
If you are having issues packing something back into your vehicle, please notify one of our volunteers as we'd like to try our best and work with people in situations like these. We'd like to thank the seller who reported the broken glass to us, which was left in the field by another seller, as even just knowing there was smashed glass on the field was much better than it being left and easily run into which could have cause serious harm to young children, inquisitive pets, or car tyres.
We'd also like to warn people that dogs need to be kept on their leads, as we had reports of a dog roaming around unattended, which isn't safe for your dog or the people around it. So again, please keep your pets on leads while at the car boot.
Finally, we want to also remind everyone that buyer's blue badge parking is first come first serve, and we're not able to reserve spaces or park blue badge holders on the sellers field. One individual got quite unpleasant about this, and tried to force their way onto the sellers field to park. This behaviour is unacceptable, and not welcome at our car boots. Please always remain reasonable when talking to volunteers, and do not put other car booters in danger by ignoring our instructions and trying to drive to areas you've clearly been told not to, and are full pedestrians, many of which are children - which isn't something that should really need to be said.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we hope to see you all later on, on the 25th of May (2026!) to enjoy another car boot with you, fingers crossed for good weather!
