A pair of truly beautiful antique carved hall chairs, handpainted to off white and distressed. Very ornate carvings, gracefully shaped tops and turned legs. They are not quite identical which leads me to think that they are hand carved. They are very heavy sturdy chairs that would make a real statement in a hall, bedroom or pretty much any room in the house. They have lower seats so are not suitable for a dining table. These are a beautiful pair and have been used only a couple of times for events since being painted. Braces to the backs are a later addition. Some minor chips to the legs, edges of seats and here and there throughout, which of course makes them all the more charming. Gentle signs of use and wear, chippy paint and a deliberately distressed finish, otherwise in very good vintage condition. Size is approx 37.5cm wide across the top of the chairs, 43cm wide across the seats. Seat is 46cm high, 106cm to the top of the chair. Please study the photos carefully for details of condition.
