We are open.

The door at 6 Market Street opened at ten this morning, and the name above it is the one Shrewsbury never stopped using.

Twenty days of counting down, fifty yards across the street, and here we are. Same team, same standards, in a shop that is finally the right shape for what we actually do.

Marie Jo, PrimaDonna, Lise Charmel, Aubade, Chantelle and Anita are on the rails. Déjà Vu is in. The fitting room is at the back, and the door closes properly.

Come and say the name out loud again.

Most women are wearing the wrong size. Not through carelessness, but because a bra is a piece of engineering and almost nobody is ever taught to read one.

Here is what we look at. Whether the centre sits flat against your breastbone rather than lifting away. Whether the wire follows the edge of the breast instead of resting on it. Whether the cup holds everything with a smooth line. Whether the band is doing the work, fastened on the first hook, level across your back, with room for one finger space. Whether the straps sit firm without leaving a mark.

Five things, ten minutes, and the difference between an underwire you tolerate and one you forget you are wearing.
We fit from a 30AA to a 50K, and we keep a note of what worked so next time is quicker.

For more than thirty years there was a lingerie shop on Butcher Row called Mystique. It sat on the ground floor of Abbotts House, the Tudor building from 1459 on one of the most photographed streets in Shrewsbury, and it was where you went to be properly fitted.

In 2023 we changed the sign to Carvèll. Nobody changed it in conversation. Three years on, people still tell us they are popping into Mystique.

So we are putting it back above the door.
On Saturday 5 September we open at 6 Market Street as Mystique.

Same team, same fitting rooms, same standards, fifty yards from where we have been. Just with the name Shrewsbury never let go of. ⭐️
