We are delighted to be taking a group of Guild members to The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in Manchester, from 16–18 October 2026. Now in its 19th year, this much-loved event brings together more than two hundred specially selected makers from across the UK.

You will find the Gloucestershire Guild stand upstairs on the balcony (Stand BALC05) in the magnificent Grade II* listed Victoria Baths. Our participating craft makers are Rhian Luxury Handwoven Throws , Su Trindle at Quercus Silver Jewellery , Louise Pocock-Cluley / Louise Pocock , Cate Fox , Emily-Kriste Wilcox , Francesca Chalk , Kevin Stamper FSDC and myself

The countdown is on. First show of scarf season for me is coming up this week. The Gloucestershire Guild will be showing a selection of their members at the Gardens Gallery during Cheltenham Festivals Literature festival. This is always a gorgeous show where you can also see demos from our members (including me next weekend). Hope to see you there 😀

And so it begins, the stirrings of a new collection to be launched next year. I’m going to be creating a new lightweight cotton scarf range to complement my cosy lambswool scarves. There is lots to be done; selecting colours, planning the warp and weft layouts and lifting plan. Winding galore! I LOVE this bit 😀

Well, it’s been one of those weeks where several things have decided to happen at once.

The latest instalment involved an electrical fire in the control box of my loom. Thankfully, I didn’t burn the house down, but the loom is now out of action for a little while as I get it checked over and repaired.

The timing is not quite as disastrous as it might sound. These were going to be the last scarves on this warp anyway, before I took a little time to concentrate on some other jobs. So, for now, I’ll be finishing the two sets of scarves I did manage to weave, and turning my attention to preparations for the upcoming shows.

A little less electrical excitement next week would be appreciated!
