“£2 donation? Why bother.”
A well-meaning friend recently said to me, “Large charities would probably say, why bother with a £2 donation?”
My response?
Then they are missing the bigger picture.
Here’s an example of what could happen with just one charity supporter.
They share their unique Giftettes link once.
A supporter buys a greeting card… £2 donated.
They add a gift to their basket… another £5 donated.
At checkout, they choose to add an extra donation… another £5.
That’s £12 from one purchase.
If they shop just 5 times a year, that’s £60 from one supporter.
But it doesn’t stop there…
Every card proudly features the charity’s logo and message on the back, so the recipient discovers a charity they may never have heard of before, creating the opportunity to reach a new supporter.
And there’s something else.
If a shopper reaches checkout without a charity link, they can simply choose one from the list and direct their donation there. Once they select that charity, it’s linked to their account, so every future eligible purchase automatically supports the same cause unless they choose to change it.
In that moment, you’ve not only received a donation, you’ve gained an ongoing supporter.
Now imagine that happening across your community:
• 500 supporters = £30,000 a year
• 1,000 supporters = £60,000 a year
• 10,000 supporters = £600,000 a year
And that’s before you account for the new supporters who discover your charity through every card that’s sent.
All that from sharing one email, one social media post, or one simple Giftettes link.
So no…
It’s never been about a £2 donation.
It’s about building a sustainable stream of unrestricted income, growing awareness, and turning everyday shopping into everyday giving without asking for a single penny!
So… do you still think sharing a single link isn’t worth it?
