The EU is killing small businesses.
From 12th August, to send any parcel to any EU country, you need an authorised representative in EVERY EU country you wish to mail to, to validate that your packaging is recyclable. It is basically IMHO a stealth tax! A representative costs anywhere from 250 Euros upwards for each country per year.
And yes, my packaging is manufactured by a German producer and is fully recyclable. It is just ludicrous that I am now expected to pay someone ££££ to validate this.
If I want to continue shipping to 7 EU countries, I currently have a quote for over 2,500 Euros per year.
I simply cannot afford this, plus the administrative burden that comes with this.
This affects all sellers irrespective of their size. There is no exemption for micro or small businesses. Even if you only send one package!
There is currently a petition at change.org with over 30,000 signatures on there over the past 3 days.
This is not as a result of Brexit. This is affecting sellers also in Europe who are dealing with the same issue if they wish to ship even to a neighbouring EU country.
