When we were looking for patterns to knit in our new Yarnadelic shades way back last year, the Anjou Jumper (a pattern by ) very quickly jumped to the top of the list. There was quite a bit of debate about the colour choices between punchy and bright and more muted, and as you can see, we went with punchy and bright in the end and absolutely love the result!

Knit from the top down, Anjou features a striking slip-stitch pattern that works just as well in two similar shades as it does in high contrast ones. Short row sleeve caps ensure a great fit and the split hem is the icing on the cake! A super wearable sweater, no matter which colours you choose.

Our sample was kindly knit by Alison, one of our sample knitters, and we used Toxic and Spellbound, two of the new Yarnadelic colours we released at the beginning of the year. Kits in this colour combination and a few more will hit the virtual shop shelves on July 31st!

Next up in our range of Yarnadelic Kits that we'll be launching on July 31st: 's Crown-shy Hat! This pattern is the perfect palate cleanser and a great choice if you like knitting with wool, but don't want to have a full sweater on your lap during summer.

You start the beanie with a multi-layered folded brim in soothing stockinette and move on to the intricate combination of cables and dip-stitch leaves that creates the beautiful body of the hat. The decreases are worked into the pattern for a gorgeous star-shaped crown. Gotta love it when a hat design is as detail-oriented as this one!

Our lovely sample knitter Gillian knit this version in Yarnadelic Worsted in Drops of Jupiter. Kits for it in this colour and a few more will be available in our online shop as of July 31st.

With the preorder release of our next Annual (issue six, can you believe it?) only a month away, it's about time we start talking about it! The Annual (issue six) is themed "Power & Steam" and we're starting our journey down the tracks with the first stop today: Our photoshoot location - the Lynton and Barnstaple railway.

It's one of Devon's most iconic narrow-gauge heritage railways, and was the perfect spot for our samples, yarn and fibre tops. Head over to the blog now to take a peek behind the scenes of our days in those beautiful coaches!

We're starting our introduction of the Yarnadelic Kits launching on July 31st with a veritable wardrobe staple pinched from our very own Donna: Winters Beach Cardi!

This cosy, open-front cardigan is a dream to both knit and wear: Lots and lots of gorgeous cables, pockets (yay!) and generous ribbed cuffs for those colder days. It's perfect for layering and can even serve as an outer layer when Autumn hasn't quite hit with full force yet.

Donna knit hers in our Yarnadelic Worsted in Badi Da, the perfect heathered blue with a hint of rust! Kits for the Winters Beach Cardi will hit our virtual shop shelves on July 31st.

We know it's the middle of summer, but we also know that autumn will be here before we know it (bittersweet, right?) and so while we still have summery things on our needles, we're already planning what we'd like to knit and wear during the colder days. Plus - quite a few of you in the US might be looking for a Rhinebeck sweater, am I right?

That's why we're launching our second set of kits in Yarnadelic later this month! On July 31st, we'll have a whopping seven new kits to show you! From cabled hats to textured vests and colourwork sweaters, I think there's something for everyone. From tomorrow onwards, we'll show you those here on the grid! For now, this photo is a little taste of what's to come: Laura in the gorgeous Rosie Sweater (a pattern by ), knit by our very own Helena!

A gentle reminder that the deadline for submissions for our Annual 8 is coming up at the end of this month!

You have until July 31st to get your knit, crochet, embroidery or tapestry pattern ideas in – and as always, we welcome ideas about articles, puzzles, and illustrations too!

Annual 8's theme is a super fun one - "A Modernist Murder Mystery"! Twists, red herrings, turns, dark secrets, bodies piling up about the place, and gathering together for the big reveal – who among us doesn’t relish a good Murder Mystery? The queen of the genre, Agatha Christie, spent much of her life in Devon and, as voracious consumers of her inventive prose, we wanted to pay homage to detective fiction with this issue.

Christie’s novels are set in the first half of the 20th century, so we’ve been inspired by the Modernist movement with its bold abstraction of form and sumptuous textures - all whilst sipping away at a cocktail, of course... let’s hope it’s not laced with arsenic!

The fabulous Virginia Sattler-Reimer has designed a new sock pattern to celebrate the Virtual Mill Open Weekend 2026! The Marcela Socks are a beautiful combination of ribbed texture and colourwork with endless opportunities for playing with different shades in the sweet colourwork motif.

They are named after Marcela, the shepherdess of Don Quixote (published in 1605), whose feminist message still resonates today, and who refused to live her life on anyone's terms but her own.

Virginia used our trusty Exmoor Sock for her sample – Mizzle for the main colour, and Bulderin' Clouds, Bibble Bug, Fairy Thimble and Fuzzpig for the colourwork. We've put together a kit in the original colourways, a few options for two colours - a main and a contrast - and you can also get a kit in just the main colour if you'd like to use your own scrap yarn for the colourwork. Kits are available now on jarbon.com!

Thank you so much for a fabulous Virtual Mill Open Weekend! We had a blast seeing so many of you join our Launch Party, sharing your gorgeous makes during the Show & Tell, learning about colourwork design from Virginia Sattler-Reimer and how to run a knitwear design business from Thea Colman, interviewing the lovely Madeleine and Andrea from Fruity Knitting and expanding our skill set to embroidery on wool with Grace from Beyond Measure.

Thank you to all our wonderful teachers and conversation partners, and to every single one of you who showed up in one of our Zoom sessions and chatted with us on Slack!
