Did you know that spending time in the water can make a real difference?
Swimming is one of the most effective natural ways to support your lymphatic system.
If your chest, shoulder or arm feels heavy after breast surgery, or swelling has become part of daily life, you are not alone. Even a long time after surgery, lymph flow can still be affected.
The natural pressure of the water works in a similar way to gentle lymphatic drainage and helps lymph fluid flow through the body. At the same time, moving in the water supports mobility and takes some of the strain off your body.
That’s why swimming can be a soothing way to support your lymphatic system and do something good for your body.
Do you have questions about lymphoedema, or would you like to share your experience? We’d love to hear from you in the comments or in a private message.
