Quick update:
The address on the poster is a bit vague ( although correct 🤔). The easiest way to find the studio is to use Google maps and search for 'Park Farm Holidays Minstead'. The postcode can take Sat-navvers on a merry sightseeing tour of the village!!

This is a great opportunity to see where the studio is and get a feel for why I believe it is such a wonderful space to be inspired and sew.
Also I know how much it matters that you feel comfortable with a tutor. This is a chance to have a no obligation, informal chat over a drink so you can suss me out!
Whatever your sewing aspirations, I will try to get you sewing on the day 🤩 but if you're a bit too nervous I will demonstrate how simple it can be.

If you have ever thought it would be good to have some sewing ability, whether you think you would be useless or not ... I am opening the studio on the 29th and 30th of June for meet and greet and maybe a no pressure tinker on a sewing machine (or a demo if you're still feeling too self conscious).

More sessions and more info coming but want to start getting this out there now.

Wow, I am slightly gob-smacked by how many people messaged yesterday with work requests, saying 'it's just a [small/simple] job' or 'can I book now for when you start booking again' 😫⁉️, after my post yesterday asking to respect my need for no interruptions. I was talking to everybody, not everybody else 😖.

I am only open for collections at the moment.Please respect this. I have work that I can't concentrate on with repeated unscheduled interruptions. The sooner I can complete this work the sooner I will be able to resume accepting new work again

💕💖 Looking for a more unique Valentines Day gift?
I made 'Sweetheart' as a creative textiles sampler about 10 years ago and have been showing it ever since. It would be nice to see it go out and be worn in the wild.
A lot of time and expertise went into the embellishing.
The heart and flowers machine embroidered jacket is at a more comfortable price point for most.💖💕

Leah's dress was a bit long. Another seamstress suggested it just needed cutting off at the bottom and re-hemming. Luckily Leah came for a second opinion as she felt that it needed more comprehensive alterations.
I agreed and we shortened the bodice and lifted the skirt at the waist so that the flare came from the thigh level rather than the knees. It still needed trimming at the hem too, to regain the correct fit and flare look. Along with shortening the sleeves the customised dress was exactly what Leah had imagined.
Mike and his best man just needed some basic tweaks to their suits.
The experience of visiting the studio also inspired Leah, and her mum, to come for sewing lessons too!

Marketing guru's always suggest that having a rural studio is a selling point to exploit. It is brilliant to be able to work and teach in such a relaxing place away from the fast paced built environment full of noise and haste but it has it's drawbacks.
'In the heart of the New Forest' sounds like a bit of a trek, the middle of nowhere but it's not!
It is in an a quiet village surrounded by beautiful ancient forest that's just off the A31 at Cadnam and off the A337 Cadnam to Lyndhurst road.

I have been nervous about starting this job. The customer asked me to shorten the thumbs of their cycling gloves.
Why nervous?
These are heated gloves, and I foolishly looked at the price of replacement before I stuck my unpicker into them !!
Carefully snipped a couple of stitches, that was okay so carried on 🤞. As I reasonably suspected, the heating element appears to be a conductive membrane sandwiched between a goretex layer and the fleece lining.
Phew, I didn't want to damage the electrics.
