Supporting local businesses bring character, warmth and community to the area. Great people, hard work and independent businesses deserve support from neighbours who appreciate what they do every day.

It genuinely saddens me to see so many amazing independents having to close their doors, move online, or fight harder than ever just to survive.
Our high streets, communities, and social feeds are slowly being filled by the “big boys” — and while I completely understand that chains provide jobs for local people, it’s hard to ignore the impact they’re having on small independent businesses.
So many independents offer something the chains simply can’t replicate: real passion, personal service, unique products, proper care, creativity, quality, and that feeling of being genuinely valued as a customer.
When we lose independent businesses, we don’t just lose shops, cafés, salons, makers, creatives, or services — we lose character. We lose choice. We lose the people who pour their heart, time, money, and energy into building something special.
So let’s do something simple but powerful.
Let’s start a tag team for independents. 💛
Tag 5 of your favourite independent businesses in the comments and tell us why you love them.
Then, if you can, take a few minutes to:
✨ follow them
✨ like a few posts
✨ share their page
✨ recommend them to a friend
✨ buy from them when you can
Small actions really do make a difference. Engagement helps their pages get seen, word of mouth helps them grow, and every bit of support reminds them that their hard work matters.
Let’s support each other, spread the word, and help keep our independents alive.
I’ll start — tag your 5 favourites below. 👇
