Polly had a dolly

Polly had a dolly Polly had a Dolly seeks to spark children’s imaginations and encourage creativity. My dolls draw on Steiner philosophy which is used in Waldorf eduction.

They have deliberately simple facial expressions to stimulate the creativity within your child, helping them to portray their feelings and emotions on to their doll and allowing them to engage in a deeper lever of play. Of all the natural materials I use in my doll making, the British lambswool stuffing is the most important. It is the best filling for dolls as it absorbs your child’s body heat ma

king it super comforting; it has a density and weight which is reassuring; and, pratically it is naturally antibacterial, eco friendly and fire-retardant. I provide full washing and care instructions with all my dolls. I care passionately about our the environment so I try to use natural materials and make dolls that will last. Each dolly comes with a dolly hospital pass where I will repair your dolly for its lifetime. All my dolls are CE marked and safe for children.

A little sneak peek of the mini butterfly dolls I’ve been working on behind the scenes. Some of you will know my big butterfly dolls which are hand stitched with gorgeous wool felt wings. These are a mini version - I have recreated the wings and had them printed onto cotton lawn. I would love to hear your thoughts? I am going to be trialling them at my upcoming events on the 6th September and Woodfest Belmont House & Gardens the following Sunday. Maybe they will be available online after that…

I’m so excited to tell you that my dolls are now being stocked in a lovely shop . This gorgeous gem of a shop is on the high street in Lenham (11 High Street, Lenham ME17 2QD) and features an amazing array of beautiful gifts from artisans across Kent. There’s also a refill station for your cleaning bottles at the back of the store. I’ll be in the shop once a month - my first shift is on the 23rd July - hope to see you there!
