Progress is not about attempting the hardest skill as quickly as possible.

Strong athletes build control, body awareness and consistency at every stage before adding height, speed or difficulty.

Coaches can support long term development by choosing progressions that match each athlete’s current physical and psychological readiness.

Master the foundation. Build confidence. Then move forward.

Share this with an athlete or coach who needs the reminder and follow UKCA for more development guidance.

Safe progress starts before the first skill is attempted.

Before every session, coaches should consider the training space, equipment, athlete readiness, appropriate supervision and emergency procedures.

A well planned environment helps athletes learn with confidence and allows skills to be introduced through appropriate, level specific progressions.

Safety is not a single check. It is a consistent coaching practice shared by coaches, athletes and everyone supporting the team.

Save this reminder for your next session and follow UKCA for more coaching guidance.

Safeguarding must remain at the heart of every sporting environment.

has launched an updated suite of Safeguarding and Protecting Children learning products, developed in partnership with NSPCC Sport.

The refreshed training supports coaches, welfare officers, young coaches, volunteers and organisations in recognising concerns, responding appropriately and keeping children and young people at the centre of their practice.

Creating safe and supportive environments is a shared responsibility across our whole sporting community.

On Sunday, 19 of our fabulous students competed at UKCA - United Kingdom Cheerleading Association National School's Cheer and Dance Championships in Manchester. The girls were an absolute credit to the school and made us totally PROUD all day. We placed 5th in our category - no mean feat considering we were in the KS4 category with a mostly-KS3 team, against other teams who were mostly KS4.
Mrs Roberts & Mrs Hitchmough.
