The Summer House is coming along nicely! Again, trying to use reclaimed material where possible.

Vintage stained glass windows add a lovely touch and there are two more left which will be used on the partition for the veranda.

Finally decided on using some very old, chippy paint doors for the final wall. What do you think?

Still a way to go yet; the floor needs painting and fascia attaching, veranda partition building and guttering but it’s taking shape.

I’ll keep you posted!

Another day full of florals with

Midweek Vintage Treasures Wednesday Challenge

TOMORROW’S THEME: SUMMER DAYS’

Welcome to our regular midweek challenge! You can interpret it however you like, but please remember it’s vintage.

WEDNESDAY THEME: ‘SUMMER DAYS’

As we step into August, I feel we should treasure these Summer days. Soon we will forget the joy of sunshine and be bundling up, once again, in layers and lighting the fire.

What says ‘Summer’ to you, vintage wise?

Picnic hampers, tartan rugs, mismatched plates and glasses? Sun hats, seascapes or tin buckets and spades?

Maybe it’s those ancient terracotta pots filled with brightly coloured geraniums, a favourite book, shells to collect and display or an old tennis racket?

Family occasions are organised for many of us and a blue sky is longed for. Sunshades, floral dresses, straw hats and games on the lawn.

Another Wednesday, another challenge! Let’s get thinking!

Such a great morning sourcing new vintage stock on the Cheshire Showground for ;one of my favourite things to do.

My other favourite thing is bumping into Instagram friends. No competition, no rivalry; just helpful, friendly and encouraging. I am so thankful and happy to be part of this great community.

Days like this really give me encouragement and motivation. When you spend a lot of time on your own , it’s really invaluable.

A truly lovely day; of course it helped that the gorgeous husband came too and we managed to spend time together.

Baskets! They come in all shapes and sizes, colours and forms. We can transform their style.

Use them as storage, for displays or practically.

This vintage French wire basket was originally for collecting eggs, but if you don’t have chickens then you can enjoy it in so many other ways!

I’ve just reduced the price on my website too.
