A lovely (if rather soggy!) day spent exploring Boscobel House and the famous Royal Oak with mother

Fuelled by an excellent hot chocolate and scone, I spent the afternoon admiring some of the most beautiful painted furniture I’ve seen in a long time, unfortunately non of which was for sale! and, of course, couldn’t resist bringing home a couple of antiques books from the English Heritage bookshop.

The day ended with a little sadness as we arrived home just in time to watch a fox making off with one of our chickens! Thankfully our timing was almost spot on — another few minutes and we might have come home to a much bigger problem. RIP little brown chuck 😞

So many lovely pieces have gone off over the pond but not to worry restocking has already started. There’s a large painted pine dresser coming in tomorrow and more pine shelving. Praying for a break in the rain next week so it can all get photographed and put on the website
