🏊🏽 Lovely Flick who’s worked with us in the shop for over 4 years is celebrating a big birthday this year 🎉 Which has inspired her to swim the English Channel in August as part of a relay team to raise money for SwimTayka- SwimTayka’s mission is to give disadvantaged communities around the world access to swimming teachers who can not only provide the life skills of swimming but create a legacy for today’s children, who will grow up to teach the next generation. Since opening in July 2012 we’ve had to adapt a lot over the years, as we were the only gift shop on Fountain street when we opened. Selling predominately Artisan made products, however no one really knew what Artisan meant then… As a family we’d lived in France & Spain where we knew the word to mean a ‘trades person who makes things…’ we sold everything from pottery, cushions, jams & chutneys, De-commissioned fire hose bags, soaps, tea towels, prints, cards, olive oil, candles, baskets to chocolate, blankets, teddy bears & Lavender…

We are hiring (From August/September time)

Would you like to be a part of the JLA family?
We’re looking for-
Someone who can work part time in the shop both alone & along side our existing team.
With attention to detail, good customer service, self motivated, confident with technology (any marketing knowledge/experience would be great plus).
Must have retail experience.
Available to work several days a week including some Saturdays, with more work around Christmas time & up until Christmas Eve, including the odd Sunday in December only.
Someone who is able to carry delivery boxes up & down stairs when necessary.

🌞 Incase you hadn’t already noticed, it’s going to be a very hot week 🥵 We plan on being OPEN as normal with our vast selection of hats, shorts, cotton &/or linen shirts, swim shorts, T-Shirts, sunglasses, dry bags, quick drying towels, polo shirts… and our changing downstairs is lovely & cool 😎 🪭 So come on in Monday->Saturday 10-5.30 (Always open online too!)
