I am just about to put these on my wall!!!

I now have my City and Guilds Level 3 in Millinery.

Thank you to my family and friends and everyone - too many to name, but you know who you are - who have helped me get to this point - it's been a long haul.

Thank you to my inspirational tutor Louise Pocock, my fellow students for putting up with me in class and to Jenny Robert's for her wonderful online courses and techniques of the week.

Never again will you need to ask " have you finished your City and Guilds yet?", because I have!

Busy busy all weekend in the Studio - with Glastonbury blasting out!😎🕺💃

I will start showing you what I have been up to from next week. I have a policy that I will not share a piece on my page until my client has worn it to the event it's intended for. That's the reason for all the teeny peaks there have been of late!

In my excitement whilst typing my post I omitted a hugely important person in the design process - Sue Quilliam of Glen Moar Cottage Retreat.
Sue created the distinctive braid work and tassels you see around the crown of the hat - they too are made from Manx Loaghtan wool.
Thank you Sue for your patience and amazing creativity!

Feeling very proud….

On Monday evening on BBC2,Michael Portillo’s Great Coastal Railway Journeys visited the Isle of Man. He met and danced with the Perree Bane Manx Dancers. Carole from the group described the history of and the fabrics used to make their very distinctive costumes - including their hats. I am delighted to say I made them - but not the one Mr Portillo wore!

Thank you to Caroline for asking me to make them. Carole for guiding me through the requirements and to gentlemen of the group for their patience during fittings! Thank you also to Louise Pocock, my City and Guilds tutor who allowed me to pick her brains on the design process!
