✨Plastic Free July - Week 2 - Bathroom Items✨⁣

How’s your Plastic Free July been going so far? Have you managed to trying anything new?

The area I found the most easiest to make eco swaps were in the bathroom. Everyone tends to have their own personal stuff they use, so there is no need to compromise and you choose what works for you 🤩

There are so many wonderful brands and options out there now, but I thought I would share with you my top favourite brands I am currently using;
💚 local handmade soap which I brought from . I found this soap lasted really well and smelled great.
💚 I’ve been using their shampoo and conditioner bars lately as they have one designed for curly/dry hair 🙌 Also these have been lasting me AGES!
💚 A brand I love and have tried pretty much everything on their site 🥰 My top favourites are their deodorant (it’s the only one I have found which doesn’t irritate my skin), the miracle light oil (which I use as a leave in oil in the kids and my curly hair) and their lip balm (it’s the only vegan one I found that really works when lips are really dry).
💚 you know how much we love their hair and everywhere bars. I find these foam up nice and quickly for the kids and easy for their little hands to handle.

For the second week of we are offering 20% off our selection of plastic free bathroom alternatives (discount automatically applies in your basket). Each Friday we will be offering a discount on a different selection of products which can help you cut back on your plastic consumption 💚🌎

✨Plastic Free July - Week 1 - Wipes✨⁣

Did you know that single used wipes are made of approx 84% plastic? That’s not including the plastic packaging they come in!🌍 😱⁣⁣

⁣There are wipes for everything these days; baby wipes, make-up wipes, kitchen wipes, anti-bacterial wipes......and they make up 90% of materials that cause sewer blockages in the UK 🤦‍♀️

There are better alternatives out there that are easy to use as part of your daily routine. So simple! No special care needed. Just add water, stick them in your wash and reuse 💚⁣

For the first week of we are offering 29% off all reusable wipes and small wetbags (discount automatically applies in your basket). Each Friday we will be offering a discount on a different selection of products which can help you cut back on your plastic consumption 💚🌎

Plastic Free July 2022 - A month filled with encouragement and ideas on ways to help reduce single used plastic consumption.

I have been more conscious of my plastic consumption since having my daughter 6 years ago, but I know I have been more slack in recent years.

For this month I will be bringing back my old habit of making my own hummus, ice pops and try out our local picking farm .

Things I will be looking into this month is another way of doing our zero waste pantry shopping, as sadly our local shop is closing 😢. I will do some research into machine, as making our own milk would reduce our waste massively and also look into a having a plastic free veg box again.

Have you thought about what you would like to research and where you would like to reduce your single used plastic?

I started my cloth journey 6 years. I think what first sparked the idea was me researching things that would be kinder to my baby, as well as the environment.

We were kindly given a box of reusable nappies via a work colleague that were very well worn and no other information. I had no idea that BTP (birth to potty nappies) wouldn’t fit my newborn.

Although we were kindly given the nappies by someone, I didn’t actually have anyone to go to for advise or to see if what I was doing was correct. But wow!!! 6 years later we now have a whole community online, loads of simple guides available and friendships made.

The days are now gone of me sitting around, replacing the elastic in those nappies, feeling like the only one 🥲
