Time to talk some truth.
I set up House of Sherbet with the vision that once established, it would be a platform for domestic violence and abuse survivors to thrive. To gain some confidence and talk about their experiences whilst doing something they liked, clothes shopping which would eventually donate to charities. To build a like minded community of mutual understanding and healing.
And then it stopped before I could get it off the ground properly. WHY?
Despite reaching a point in February where I thought I was free from the past and ready to face a new brighter future, my business has had to take a back seat because the abuse raised its ugly head in another form. I was supporting a handful of women, helping them establish boundaries, reducing their anxiety and setting a clearer path to freedom. This often entailed children and contact arrangements.
I donβt have the strength in me to finish the website and source new clothes but what I do have is the ability to talk and listen. With October being domestic violence awareness month, it is perfect timing to get the support element up and running.
I would really appreciate a share of this post and later I will include a link to a closed group for discussions. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Letβs do this!
