We are open today, 12pm to 5pm, the same goes for the rest of the week excluding Sunday. If you see the lights on before or after these times, please feel free to pop in.

Today we took receipt of this beautiful Vintage Georgian style gilt-framed wall mirror with lovely aged character and original foxed Glass.

At some point in it's life this mirror passed through the doors of the well known Beaux Arts Gallery, London. Underneath the label there seems to be some referencing to a painting along side the name of the celebrated artist Sir William Nicholson (1872-1949). Of course this could also reference the English portrait painter William Nicholson (1781-1844).

Will we ever know? And this, is the beauty of it all.

Pop in or send me a message if you wish to purchase this wonderful piece of history.

A day in the shop spent sorting through some antique and vintage postcards.....there is LOTS of them.....not going to lie, it's not the most fun job in the world.

HOWEVER, you do come across some wee gems, these are my favourite so far.

An immaculate postcard of Tobermory main street, dated 1904 and produced by Hugh Cameron of Tobermory - I wonder if any of my Mull friends are related?

A real photograph postcard of Elvis, probably around 1958, not the best condition but on the back it informs us he is 12 stone and owns 6 Cadillacs and 200 teddy bears...thanks for that.

A German patriotic fundraising postcard featuring an embossed 'Her Majesty Empress Augusta Victoria' issued by the German Veteran's Association in 1905, making it over 120 years old and it's in pretty good nick.

Another few postcards featuring The King & Queen of Norway and HRH Prince Olaf, King Edward VII, also Kaiser Wilhelm II with the Duke of Connaught and King Edward VII. All pretty cool.

Give me 3 years and all the post cards will be available for sale in our shop. A few are available now 😅

Well, it's actually a house clearance but that's pretty much the same thing...

We are currently 'up North', quite far actually, and it was full of hazards getting here but here we are.

This means the shop will be closed for the next few days, such is the way of it.

Did you know we are registered waste carriers? This means that we can offer house clearences and can dispose/recycle any contents (if needed) in a safe and regulated manner. If you would like a quote just DM us on here or contact us on WhatsApp. We prefer Argyll but in truth we can offer the whole of Scotland and beyond. After all, who doesn't love an adventure? 🤠🥸

Learning, Wisdom, Holiness.

"No artist could could truly capture his virtues - only his physical appearance".

Which I thought was nice!

It seems back in the day folk were popular for very different reasons than they are now.

Dr Richard Lloyd served as bishop of St Asaph from 1692 until his death in 1717.

He was so popular that this commemorative portrait was produced more than 60 years after his death.

Interesting fact (well kind of!). He served under five monarchs - Charles I, Charles II, James II, William III (with Mary II), and Queen Anne, an extraordinary period of political and religious change.

I like this copperplate engraving. He has some beard.

Priced at £125.

We had a visit from the high-energy folk duo, The Mad Ferret band today after a great gig in Tarbert last night. Here are the guys trying out an Edwardian Christy's of London Top Hat and a 1960's Egyptian style Fez! Sandy's head was too large unfortunately 😬😆🎩. Thanks for visiting guys, see you again in September for Live at the Loch.

In our shop we sell many collectables including rare and highly sought after items that are popular for collectors and the like. These often come with suitable price tags and are not to be confused with more recent modern replicas that would be more suitable for children and grandchildren and more readily available at charity or bric-a-brac shops. Always here for a chat and willing to assist 😊

We are open! Well, kind of, our hours will be fairly sporadic over the next week but should settle down after that and will be updated on here.

This is John Barleycorn.....he is a Royal Doulton Toby Jug and is maybe over 80 years old. He is in good nick for that age and he looks like he knows something that we don't! Either that or he's had a few in The Corner House Tarbert 😉
