Huge congratulations to Nelly and Andrew on your wedding! 💍🤍

The lovely couple were married on 25th July in the beautiful setting of their home garden in Castletown before continuing the celebrations at Stannergill.

Thank you so much, Nelly, for sending me these absolutely gorgeous photos. You looked truly stunning in your dress! After all the alterations were completed, it fitted you beautifully and looked absolutely fabulous. 🥰

Your wedding dress was certainly no easy task! As you can see, the entire bodice was fully beaded, which meant all of the beadwork had to be carefully removed before any alterations could begin. Once the alterations were complete, every bead had to be meticulously replaced, and the dress was also shortened to the perfect length.

Thank you, Nelly, for trusting me with such an important part of your special day. It was an absolute pleasure, and I’m so honoured to have been part of your wedding journey 🥂🍾❤️

The happy couple were married in Port Louis, Mauritius.

WOW, Mariam, you looked absolutely incredible in your wedding dress! I’m so glad you were happy with the finished result.

As you can see from the photos, I made a huge transformation to the wedding dress. The bride only had a couple of weeks to find a dress before the wedding, so there wasn’t enough time to have one custom-made. Instead, she chose a dress straight from the rack in a bridal shop and asked me to transform it into a more modest design.

Before I could begin, I had to completely take the dress apart. I then rebuilt the bodice to create a more rounded neckline, added more coverage over the shoulders, and relined the bodice for a better fit and finish.

The bride also wanted the neckline, shoulders, and sleeves covered with lace motifs. To achieve this, I created ¾-length sleeves and carefully used additional motifs to fill the gaps and blend everything seamlessly together.

The skirt also required alterations, including taking it in, repositioning the pockets, and shortening the length.

I was absolutely delighted when the bride came for her final fitting. Her face lit up, she gave me a big hug, and said the dress was everything she had hoped for and more.

Moments like that truly make my day 😊
