We Had One of Them Before I started selling dresses I always wanted to have a shop full of beautiful things. Didn't matter what it was, as long as I thought it was beautiful.

Shop open Sunday 12.30 til late.

Drop in and say hello.

Onto other news...I have failed with my WindWow
I can't find my greenery for the trees, well, its more like goldery...its an integral part of my PINK retro trees.

My dear husband looked for it in the cellar and declared that its not there, so I assumed !! Wrongly that it was in the shop cellar.

So this has led me to believe that he had a stroppy boys look, (he hates getting the Christmas decs out)

It also means I'm going to have to go down and look myself, it also means I might not be able to get back out.

If you come to the shop Sunday and I'm not there, you'll know where I am x

Good evening. Mojo is definitely returning. I can feel it in the air...

So, following on from my last post I promised a tale of love, heartbreak and bitter disappointment that will rival any Shakespearean tragedy. A story with no happy ending, just the brutal, cruel reality of life.

But first we have to go back in time, back to a time of hedonism and music, the second Summer of Love, we're going back to 1989.

In 1989, like thousands of others, I was a follower of a new religion, I was a raver. In fields, in clubs, in warehouses or under a motorway bridge, anywhere the music played, I would be there. Not only did I follow the music, I also followed the fashion. We all wore the same uniform, but some wore a uniform that was out of reach for a twenty year old office clerk.

There was a label that I wanted to wear so badly my eyes would bleed with envy and lust when I saw other people wearing it. My fellow Whooters, please feel my pain when I tell you why I didn't wear it, it was, oh hell, it was because I couldn't afford it.

It was the Destroy label by John Richmond.

Every item of clothing designed by that man was so utterly beautiful I would quite happily of given up a kidney for the chance to wear anything from his collection. If John Richmond had pooed on a tea towel and made a hat from it, had I the money I would have bought it and worshipped said poo hat at the altar in the Church Of Fashion.

And John Richmond is still designing clothes thirty five years later, my love for him is unwavering, his clothes are still eye wateringly expensive; and I still couldn't justify purchasing it. The original Destroy is now vintage and if you laid your hands on a rare jacket there wouldn't be a lot of change from a grand.

But then something wonderful happened.

In February it was my birthday and I had money to spend from my loved ones. I was scrolling through the website of TK Maxx. Gold designer section. Looking for sunglasses.

And there, out of nowhere, a single solitary picture. JOHN RICHMOND JEANS IN MY EFFING SIZE!!! And yes, I know some bright spark will say that you can get John Richmond in TK Maxx all the time, which is correct. But that's just the younger cousin version, the not quite there version, the affordable Designers at Debenham version.

These jeans were so beautiful I wanted to lick them, bring them home and marry them. They were the darkest of blue, beautifully cut and flared. I had visions of me pairing them with heels and looking like a supermodel striding round Sainsburys doing the weekly shopping with the crowds parting to look, stare and gasp with awe.

With a shaking hand I ordered them. And waited. Sleepless nights of excitement. Finally, finally, FINALLY I was going to own a piece made with God's own hands.

They came. I opened them. I stroked them. I whispered words of love. I took them out of the tissue paper and looked and......

I wanted to sob. What cruel torture was this? Was John Richmond some sort of sick, perverse monster?

I'm 5"2. Hardly a midget. But short nonetheless. These jeans were designed for a giantess. An Amazonian. A FREAK!!!!! A long legged gazelle like freak of nature. A tall BITCH!

And they couldn't have been taken up. I'd lose the flares. What was the point? Years and years of wanting. My disappointment was physically painful. Why? WHY? WHY!?

John Richmond.

Sir, you are a tosser.

Be careful what you wish for my friends.

True story.

And I forgot to return them in time.

They're for sale if anyone is interested.

They're quite long.

Bonjour WHOOTERS.

Mummy calling,

Just a reminder that we are open from 11 till 3 tomorrow and Friday.

And Wed till Fri for the foreseeable future.

Today I have mostly making a sign to go outside, but I ordered the stencil letters to large, I'm old school and still work in inches and got the measurements wrong so I improvised. It's different, not finished yet and I used artistic license.

Pop in tomorrow if you have time and have a look.

Hello to all my fellow WHOOTERS!

My apologies for the recent lack of communication. This is sadly due to the loss of my beloved Mojo. I won't bore you with the details of why I lost my Mojo, I would imagine that most of you know by now anyway.

Anyways.... I do believe I caught sight of the little bu**er the other day lurking around the Ivy House making faces and giving me the "L" for Loser sign.

I snapped. Enough of this moping. It's boring now. It's time Mojo and I reconciled and my first steps towards it is to open my shop. And this I've done. Come and find me Wednesdays to Fridays from 11.00am - 3.00pm.

And if you ever wanted to meet my darling mummy she'll also be with me showcasing her beautiful, original, handmade gifts, just in time for Christmas.

So, what to post about? Well, I thought I should remind you that as well as holding a large stock of collectibles I've also got two huge rails of great quality pre loved and new clothing, all picked by me for the simple reason that they're GORGEOUS!

I've added a selection for your viewing pleasure, message me if you'd like anything, and if you want to try anything on I've got a changing room in the shop.

Oh bloody hell, this post has gone sideways, I was going to thrill you with a tale of a fashion nightmare, but it's too late now I've waffled on as per usual.

You'll have to wait until tomoz.

Honestly. It's worth the wait.

Much love.

Well howdy strangers, WHOOT'S Mum here,

I bring exciting news, Stacy is opening the shop on Wednesdays, Thursday and Friday every week, 11 till 3, so in celebration I've finished a Halloween window.

The shop will be selling antiques, ephemera, and anything that takes her fancy really. She also has quite a stock of pre loved and never worn clothes.

Stace has also asked me if I'd like to sell my makes in tandem with her, so I'll be in the shop too with Kitty and Ted.

I will be selling my makes and carefully chosen items, gifts just right for christmas presents, stocking fillers, key rings, bag charms, Christmas decorations etc.
Prices will start from £1 Zip Pulls to £10 Bag charms.

I want everything I sell to be quirky and affordable.

So this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday onwards. 11am till 3pm, come and find us, have a chat, and get some Christmas Gifts x

I've finally got round to changing the window.

It's an eclectic mix this time, we have Chance Handkerchief glass from the 50's, iconic blue Wedgewood, pretty bud vases in all the colours of the rainbow, Babycham glasses 🥂 and beautiful collectable glass from the 50's and 60's, and finally a very pretty Oliver Bonas dress in yellow.

Thank you for looking x x
