Good evening. Due to the response from yesterday’s post I have taken the decision to take it down.

I never anticipated how widely it would be shared and some of the comments have perhaps been based on having limited facts about the event and us as a business.

I have run my little shop for almost 15 years and been the victim of this crime many times. As such, I can assure everyone that I have followed all the correct procedures and on every occasion, including this one, I have been supported by our lovely local PCSO.

I usually only like positive posts but this needs to be out there as shoplifting is so upsetting and damaging to small businesses.

While the shop was busy on Saturday this person took two Jellycats off the shelf and walked out with them without paying. We have very clear cctv footage of this taking place.

I’d like to give this person the opportunity to return them back to the shop and no further action will be taken.
