I have finally made a start with my new direction.
Moving just before lockdown meant it was many months before I could settle in to my new workroom, I found it difficult to start creating anything, I hadn't the space to start with paints, molding paste and heat gun and couldn't honestly for quite a while see the point in any of it.
Unpacking different boxes I came across my dressmaking fabrics gathered over the years, always promising myself I would make that jacket or those pants, collecting patterns from independent makers, but not actually doing anything with them.
This has led me to want to begin creating garments again. I feel as if I am starting all over again, it has been so long.
I didn't do myself any favours by making this jacket as my first attempt, the fabric was slippy and bouncy, it wouldn't press a narrow seam and caused the air to turn blue on a few occasions, but at last its done.
