🤍 World breastfeeding week 🤍
Gosh I miss this feeling so much…
Myself and Thea had our last feed on New Year’s Eve just gone. After 2.5 years of the most gorgeous journey together!
It’s beautiful. It’s exhausting. It’s empowering. It’s challenging. It’s comforting. It’s overwhelming. It’s a kind of special that cannot be put into words.
Something I thought I was so ready end… until it actually happened. As much as I knew the time was right, I wasn’t prepared for the wave of emotions that came with closing that chapter. For 2.5 years, it was so much more than feeding. It was comfort after a bump, antibodies during illness, reassurance for big feelings, quiet cuddles, connection, a bond that only the two of us truly understood.
As someone who supports families through my baby classes, I know that every feeding journey looks different. Some breastfeed for days, some for months, some for years. Some bottle feed from the beginning, some combination feed, and for some, breastfeeding simply wasn’t possible. Every family has their own story and every parent deserves to feel proud of the love, care and dedication they give their baby 👶🏽
This week isn’t about comparing… it’s about raising awareness, offering support, celebrating informed choices and the incredible job parents do every single day.
To everyone feeding, nurturing, comforting and loving their little ones in whatever way works for their family, you are all amazing 🤍
My inbox is always open to those who need advice, support, a listening ear or just relatable conversation. Lord knows we all need one of those sometimes 🫶🏼
I’m so grateful for my story and I will never take that time for granted. I wish you all the best in yours x
