New season. New colours. But, are they YOUR colours?

There's lots of new colours coming through in the shops.

And whilst it's great to have something new to choose from, not every colour you see will be the one that works for you.

That's where knowing your colours can make shopping that little bit easier.

You don't need to consider every item on every rail, you can simply narrow it down to look for your versions.

Your ultimate shopping guide is your fabric swatches (available online and included with each colour analysis consultation). But there's also my Seasonal Updates, designed to help you focus on what's actually relevant to you each season.

You don't need to love every new colour that appears. Just the ones that will love you back 💙💚🩷💛

My seasonal updates will be available soon. Join the wait list so you don't miss out.

On Monday I showed you some of the simple tweaks I've been making to my own clothes to make them work better for me.

But what if the tweak needs to be the colour?

A lovely lady came to my last Colour Analysis workshop and told me about a vivid yellow Levi's T-shirt she owned. Once we'd established that she was a ‘cool', she realised the T-shirt wasn't actually doing her any favours.

But she loved the T-shirt.

So I suggested that she try dyeing it...

She later sent me this photo of the result along with some of the other clothes she'd been reconsidering, and she was thrilled with how they turned out!

It's not just about knowing what shades of colours to buy next time you're shopping. It can change the way you look at the clothes you already own.

Sometimes it's a tweak to the garment.
Sometimes it's a colour refresh.
Sometimes it's both.

Knowing your colours isn't just about knowing what to buy. It's about knowing what to do when something isn't quite right too.

Want to discover your colours? My next Colour Analysis workshop is fully booked, but I have individual appointments available this autumn.

If you'd rather come with friends, you can organise your own group session too.

I've made time for a few sewing projects over the summer.

I'm still very much learning, and I haven't been making clothes from scratch. Instead, I've been learning how to change the clothes I've already got. (Huge thanks to )

Nothing major - shortening sleeves, removing elastic and altering things that were never quite right.

And I even managed to turn a dyeing mistake into something completely different!

Because sometimes it's about thinking differently about your wardrobe.

A little tweak might make it work better for you. Getting clothes to work for you doesn't always mean buying something new. It could be adapting what you already have.

I think about this a lot with my own wardrobe just as much as I do when I'm helping clients with theirs.

What do you think?

Your wardrobe has done the research for you already!

It knows which colours you reach for.
The shapes you feel good in.
Which fabrics you enjoy wearing.
And which clothes haven't been touched all summer.

But, you may not like what it's telling you!

Rather than rushing into new autumn clothes, it's worth paying attention to the clues your wardrobe is giving you.

What is it about your favourites that make you keep reaching for them? And why have some things never seen the light of day?

That's where my consultations can help you understand what works for you, rather than just guessing.

If you're ready to make better decisions about what you buy and wear, get in touch.

Be honest... are you ready to ditch the flip flops yet?
Or are you hanging on to summer for as long as possible?

It's been a hot one this summer, so I'm sure that some of you will be ready for a change! 😂

Boots, layers, jackets, knitwear... and clothes that don't stick to you in the heat. The new season is starting to appear in the shops, so autumn is definitely on its way.

What are you most looking forward to wearing again?

14/08/2026

Amongst the sale rails, a new season is starting to creep in.

I've already spotted richer colours than we've seen through spring and summer, along with new shapes, textures and styles.

But, more importantly, which of them will actually work for YOU?

Knowing what works for you - your colouring, your style and your shape and proportions - makes shopping any season so much easier.

I'll be keeping a close eye on what's arriving and sharing much more about autumn / winter in the coming weeks 👀

Stay tuned (and sign up for first alert emails).

If you’re a regular round here – firstly, thank you! And secondly, I am sure you've seen this dress before!

I actually bought it in the sale in 2021 for £17 and it’s easily been worn at least 17 times since.

Sales can make it really easy to focus on the price tag and how much something costs.

But what if you looked at the VALUE of the item instead?

Because the price you pay isn't necessarily the same as the value you get.

A £50 top worn once costs you £50 per wear.

A £150 dress worn 10 times costs £15 per wear.

And in my case, the £17 dress worn 17+ times costs less than £1 per wear.

The more you wear something, the better value it becomes.

It's one of the exercises I use in my Capsule Wardrobe and Holiday Capsule Wardrobe Workbooks, both available on my website if you'd like to explore them.

Because sometimes the better buy isn't the cheapest one. It's the one you wear time and time again.

And knowing what suits you can help you identify the clothes that are more likely to become those wardrobe favourites.

If you're struggling to work out what really works for you, get in touch – I'm happy to help.

The good news? Better decisions are something you can learn.

More clothes don't automatically create more outfits. Better decisions do.

That's why I believe colour analysis and personal styling aren't about buying more clothes. They're about helping you make better decisions – choices you'll still be happy with next year and the year after.

Have you ever bought something you loved but never really wore?

I've shared more thoughts in my latest blog (link in bio).

A client last week said something that really stuck with me.

She'd found herself wearing more and more black and navy.

Not because they were her favourite colours, but because they felt like the 'safe' option.

She even knew black wasn't her best colour, so she deliberately wore it away from her face 😂

Yet somewhere along the way, she'd stopped trusting herself to choose what really suited her.

She's not the first person to tell me that.

Here's the thing about colour analysis...

âž¡ It's not about replacing your wardrobe and starting again.

➡ It's not about wearing bright colours – or any colours – that don't feel like you.

âž¡ It's about rediscovering the colours that make you look and feel like yourself again.

If this sounds familiar, perhaps it's time to rediscover what really suits you. To find out more, just send me a message or visit my website.
