Ryan Atkins is jumping for joy following an extension to his contract which will see him playing in Primrose and Blue until 2019. He said: “I had a year left on my contract so I jumped at the chance when the club offered me an extension. It means I get to do 10 years at this great club. My girlfriend, little girl and I are all settled here; it’s home for us now. As soon as I signed here the people of Warrington made me feel comfortable and happy. I have enjoyed every moment of being at Warrington so there was no hesitation in signing the extension.”

RHYS Evans is urging his Warrington Wolves teammates not to dwell on Saturday's defeat and instead turn their attention to avenging the loss next year.

The club's wait for Super League Grand Final glory goes on after rivals Wigan Warriors secured a 12-6 win at the Theatre of Dreams.

The 23-year-old said: "It didn't go our way and fair play to them they played really well – but we are really disappointed. But we have got to two finals and won the League Leaders' Shield so overall it is a good year but we know we can improve for next year. Obviously, it is going to be a bit down at the moment but when everyone has time to reflect we will look at the season on its positives and go into next year and try to improve. We have lost in the final but we can dwell on this now or look forward and be in another final next year. We have got a few signings coming in and the core of our squad is staying on so we know we have got the potential to improve. We can't get too down at the moment."

Evans was also full of praise for Dec Patton and also gave a brief summary of his own performance following the Old Trafford showdown (Full story in the Warrington Guardian).
