It’s an amazing workshop with the incredible Cathy, who’s got endless knowledge & tips on all things textiles; this time on quilting!
Using her own long armed quilting machine to finish off the quilt with a heart stitch, Cathy has created this example, demonstrating what you will create by the end of the 2 days course.

We have a great opportunity on Saturday the 1st August, to get to know your sewing machine with the fabulous Sharon. She is a textile genius, passing on all her wisdom, tips & tricks, whilst helping you build confidence in your skills on a sewing machine.

Well, looks like it’s time to get the Michael Bublé CD out 😂

New Christmas advent calendar is so sweet, I’m currently trying to get the examples made up & ready in time!
There’s also a red ‘fold’ one available as well as the sew on pockets, which is also gorgeous & you can pair them up with complimentary fabrics to go on the back 🎄

Last Friday we held our ‘master your overlocker’ workshop, where Stephen educated our lovely customers on all things you need to know about your overlocker: from how to thread it, how to use it, and what different stitches you can create with it.

It was a day crammed with so many helpful tips and tricks and I hope that our lovely ladies that joined us have left with plenty of confidence to go and use their machines solo!

Thank you to all who attended, and Stephen for running the workshop. We aim to host more soon. 😊

Welcome the fabulous Cathy, who has planned this wonderful beginners patchwork and quilting workshop! A 2 day immersive course, with time in between the sessions to prepare for day 2.

What you’ll learn:
• Fabric selection: how to choose & match prints
• Precision cutting: rotary cutter & imperial ruler skills
• Piecing: stitching your blocks with confidence
• Simple quilting: indispensable skills to finish your project

What you’ll need:
• Fabric, rotary cutter, imperial ruler & mat
• (Some cutters & rulers available to share on the day)

A big thank you to my lovely work experience helper this week.
We’ve had a busy week learning how to serve customers and use the till system, prepping fat quarters, and making products using the new ★ RUBY STAR SOCIETY ★ cut & sew panel. Our favourites this week were the fish, eggs, and the Octopus which was made into a tote bag panel, finished beautifully with blue ric rac to make the octopus pop!
It’s been a great week, and a fun experience (I hope) for us both! Thank you for being a great assistance this week & for the beautiful flowers! 🌟

The lovely Sharon is back with another Get to Know Your Sewing Machine session! This time, a Saturday!! However, Sharon is fully booked up until October onwards, so this is the last booked in session until autumn with Sharon. 🫣

This workshop is perfect if you:
• Want to learn tips & tricks for your own sewing machine
• Have had a tricky or confidence-knocking experience in the past
• Are totally new to sewing and keen to learn a new skill
