What a great project this was. The location was absolutely stunning, and this picturesque cottage garden now has a fantastic new use for the out house. 🌿☀️

We manufactured and installed bespoke canvas walls along with a beautiful new oak bar area, creating a sheltered space that still keeps the garden views front and centre.

🔧 Zip Slider Repairs – Quick Fix That Saves Your Tent! ⛺️

We’ve had a run of Outwell tent zip repairs recently, and here’s something worth knowing…

👉 If your zip pulls up but doesn’t stay closed or pops open behind the slider, 9 times out of 10 the issue is NOT the teeth… it’s the slider.

Over time, the slider wears and spreads slightly, meaning it no longer pulls the teeth together properly.

💡 The Fix (Quick & Simple):

You can often get going again by:

* Using pliers or adjustable spanners
* Gently squeezing the top and bottom of the slider (not the sides)
* Testing after each squeeze

This tightens the slider so it grips the teeth again 👍

⚠️ Important:
Be careful not to overdo it — too much pressure can jam or break the slider.

🛠️ When Do You Need a New Zip?

* If the teeth are damaged or missing → full zip replacement needed
* If the slider is too worn → replace the slider (most common fix)

In fact, most zip failures we see are solved by replacing or tightening the slider rather than replacing the whole zip.

✅ Real Job Insight:

Out of multiple Outwell tent repairs this week…
👉 Only ONE needed a full zip replacement
👉 The rest were sorted by repairing or adjusting the slider
