It is so important to choose the correct seam finish for the fabric you're working with. Linen frays a lot so you need a seam finish that will help prevent that like an overlocker, French or Hong Kong seam. Have you tried sewing with linen? It's a gorgeous fabric to sew and wear but it can stretch pretty easily so make sure to stay stitch any curved edges and you can also try a bit of cotton twill tape along shoulders and waistbands to help stabelize it. I used to think dungarees weren't for me, I was too big, had too much of a tummy or they were only for children or decorating! But after a certain brand known best for their dungarees exploded onto the scene they were everywhere and it got me thinking... maybe I could wear dungarees. 5 years, 3 patterns and 10 different pairs later, turns out I could!
