Designed to pay respect to one of the two regiments of the Household Cavalry, a regiment I served with for five of my sixteen years in His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

And a quiet nod to a very particular person of the Lifeguards, who had a lasting impact on me. As a person. As a horseman. As a leader.

Looking out over the Black Country that’s where we live now. And standing up here today, recording for our documentary on the history of Lockwood, I just stopped for a second.

Twelve months ago I signed off from the army. I had no idea I’d be here. 🙏🇬🇧

Today was one of those days that reminds you why we started this.

We were out filming for the documentary, the one telling the story of Lockwood, from the very first days of the company right through to where we’re heading now. Joined by James Martin, Oliver Loom, and Mike Crawley for the shoot, and we took them to see our manufacturing partner in Oldbury, right in the heart of the Black Country.

Standing there, watching this all come together, it’s hard not to feel it, things are hotting up. This company is going somewhere, and we’re building it properly, piece by piece, right here in Britain.

Sitting down to reflect on what was an absolutely incredible National Game Fair. Ruth’s straight back to her normal job today but hopefully not for much longer. 😄🙏

Where do I even start. People who follow us turning up with wedding gifts. That alone would have made the whole weekend. But then there’s coming to visit the stand and when I started telling him about the company, he stopped me and said he’d already been on the website a few weeks ago. Less than two years in. Let that sink in. 🥹🇬🇧

Monday it was straight back at it. Van unpacked, stock back in the stockroom Ruth held the fort there while I headed to Wales to pick up a canoe for filming for the upcoming documentary. Divided and conquered. As always. Watch this space. 👀
