💙💙💙 A wedding dress I worked on last year has made a quiet return - this time in photographs from the day.

Always a pleasure to see the final result worn and appreciated. Very grateful to my clients who share these moments. 💙💙💙

An A-line prom dress in layered tulle, heavily embellished, taken down from a UK 10 to a UK 4. The original lace-up back was removed and reworked into a clean zip fastening.

The bodice - pleated tulle over satin, finished with stones - required careful handling throughout. Embellishment was restored and extended, with beaded straps added to match the original design, and subtle bust cups introduced to refine the silhouette. Four layers were shortened by around five inches, keeping the volume and movement intact.

Complex work, mostly hidden - but everything now sits exactly as it should.

Not every alteration needs to be dramatic.

This vintage 80s bridal gown by Alfred Angelo came in for a sleeve removal. The armhole and structure were left untouched, preserving the dress's original balance and allowing the change to remain reversible.

Straightforward work - but still something that relies on a proper understanding of garment construction.

Reference note: Alfred Angelo was an American bridal house known for structured, decorative wedding gowns widely produced in the late 20th century.

This beautiful chiffon dress for the mother of the groom was brought in for a full set of alterations. The neckline was too deep, so the front shoulders were lifted, the neckline reshaped, the armholes rebalanced, and the sleeves reset. The back was taken in, reopening the centre-back seam to reset the concealed zip, and the delicate double-layer pin hem was shortened. Everything now sits perfectly, drapes beautifully, and - most importantly - feels comfortable to wear.
