If you’re choosing bridesmaid dresses for your wedding, it’s worth knowing that most will need at least a few small alterations to fit beautifully.

Hemming the length, taking in the waist or bust, and shortening straps are all simple adjustments - but they make a huge difference to how confident and comfortable your bridal party feels on the day.

It can be tempting to skip alterations to keep costs down, but a well-fitted dress helps your bridesmaids relax, move easily, and look their best from the ceremony through to the dance floor.

Most brides have their final fitting close to the big day, but occasionally, timings mean there’s a little gap in between.

If that’s the case, our Steam & Store service is here to make things easy.

We’ll safely store your dress after your final fitting, then prepare it for collection on your chosen date - beautifully steamed, protected in a breathable garment bag, and ready to go.

So when you get home, all you need to do is hang it up… and enjoy the moment, knowing everything is exactly as it should be.

A little piece of family history 🤍

This beautiful vintage veil dates back to 1935 - and it was such a privilege for our team to bring it back to life.

Lovingly repaired by hand, we carefully stitched the original, beautifully detailed edging onto new silk tulle, preserving its character while giving it strength for the next chapter.

Pieces like this are so special to work on. Full of memories, meaning, and craftsmanship from another time, ready to be worn and loved all over again.

Truly stunning, and a reminder that some things are always worth saving ✨

❤️ Real Milli’s Sewing Studio Bride Chloe ❤️

Rich reds, soft lace and the most romantic autumnal feel - Chloe’s day was beautiful in every detail.

Her lace-edged veil brought a timeless, traditional touch, perfectly complementing the simple elegance of her gown, while deep red florals and bridesmaids’ dresses carried the colour story through the day so effortlessly.

For Chloe’s alterations, we fitted the bodice through the bust, shortened the dress, and created thicker custom straps using excess fabric... small changes that made a big difference to the final look.

A truly stunning wedding, and such a joy for us to be part of ✨
