With soaring costs, and changes to social media and more, it is leading to more and more small craft businesses to shut up shop.
While a handful may survive this difficult time, most are struggling to stay afloat. During the course of 2024, 2025 and into 2026, SMT has gone from a handful of sales a month at peak times of year, to a handful of sales for the whole year.
I don't have the luxury of finding work outside of my home due to my ill health, so I rely on SMT for my only ability to keep myself busy.

What do I want from this post, just your interaction and support. Thank you for sticking around for me and my home run handmade business.

Taking product photos is such a laborious task. I spent a lot of time taking photos this bank holiday weekend, which involved me collapsing because my chronically ill body cannot cope with this amount of work.

But, now it is finally done! The next job is to get everything edited and uploaded on to the website. Will you be heading over to samsmagicalthreads.com when I'm done?
