Coaching, mentorship, and training messages that land in my inbox or come through calls are fuel to my soul.
I don’t accept all of them.
The ones I say “yes” to must be worth my time, knowledge, or expertise.
About three months ago, a JustMaud alumna sent me a message with a rough sketch of her vision: a training for fellow students at Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMSTED)now University ofSkillsTrainingandEntrepreneurialDevelopment (USTED) in Kumasi.
I was so excited that I jumped on a long call with her right away.
What moved me most was her focus: the training was for differently abled students.
I reviewed her project aim, offered professional suggestions, and we got to work planning.
By June, we were ready to bring it to fruition.
June came with the rains.
And travelling in rain is one of my phobias.
From June 1st to 11th, one of my prayer points was travelling mercy to and from Kumasi, and God answered.
A few days to the due date, I had burns on my left knee from hot banku, which was still on fire, causing me pain and the inability to wear my callipers.
Other unpleasant things happened with the intention to stop me from going.
But God did His own thing, and I am fulfilled.
For the first time as a TVET facilitator, 95% of the participants in the workshop were male.
To the glory of God, even the lecturers in attendance were impressed by the lesson delivery.
The feedback from participants and the organizer moved me to tears.
It reminded me why I started years ago, right from my small living room.
For me, success looks like this: watching people walk into our TVET hall unsure, then walk out mastering a practical skill, turning it into financial independence, creating their own sustainable job, and going on to impact other lives too.
That is success 🙌🏾
I’d be honoyred to walk this journey with any individual or group again and again.
