Plentyplenty.africa In the making: A regenerative cocoa agroforestry farm in Ghana 🌱 Hey there! I’m Lydia. I thought of so many business ideas. I need an investor.

Born to a German mother and Ghanaian father I have spent most of my life in Germany. 2018 my father showed me and my siblings the land he bought in and I was hooked. He said “that’s your heritage, it’s up to you to do something with this.” He is a dreamer and so am I. All inspired from my western mindset. “I need to make a business plan. I need to scale....” Well I’m just gonna scratch that

. I’m starting from purpose. And that is:

A) To be present and make use of the opportunities given to me
B) To achieve a life filled with joy
C) To put value on people, especially POC
D) To create spaces for others to grow and heal and become whole

For this I will be moving towards what my father described as heritage.

Love,
Lydia

Over the next couple of weeks I will be sharing my ideas with you: why is this company needed, what is the motivation and what do I actually want to do . . . 🤷🏽‍♀️

Until then remember ☝🏽Ghana Cocoa is good for you🍫

Our Deda is basically the founder of She has planted the first cocoa trees with my grandfather when she was very young. She never went to school and yet she is so intelligent. That kind of intelligence that is an emotional one. And she is turning 98 this year. Or is it 95? No one really knows her age. Because a) they didn’t have birth certificates and b) does it even matter? She is so fit and until recently was still treading palm nut oil to earn a living.

🤎 I love you, you gentle soul.

♻️ Life and death is so close by in . I just heard that our dog disappeared. In Ghana they don’t put up “Lost” notifications on traffic lights. You accept pretty quickly: You have to move on.

Personally, that’s hard for me. That’s the second time I have to accept that probably my dog was eaten.

She was supposed to guard the land and garden.

Another friend notified me that two people in his neighborhood died from one to the other day. Cause: unknown. 😶

Then 2 new babies born in the family.

Realities are very different in other countries. But it serves as a reminder: if there is anything you ever wanted to do, it is most probably NOW.

RIP Senya

I have been pondering what kind of transportation I will use once I’m there.
A car would help me to transport things, but there’s is no patrol station close by. A motorcycle can easily circumvent holes in the road but can be stolen. A bicycle is easy to maintain keeps me in shape but I can’t transport any things. I’m looking into now.🛺

Any ideas?

🖤 NOTES ON
When we start with big universal ideas, at the level of concepts and -isms, we too-often stay there and argue about theory and generalizations. At that level, the mind is totally in charge. It is then easy to love , but not any one person in particular. We defend principles of justice, but would not put ourselves out to live justly.

We just argue about theory and proper definitions. I have done this myself. Duns Scotus offered us a meaningful and practical way to live by focusing on the now, the particular, the concrete, the individual. His entire philosophy makes love, and 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘺, more important than intellect, understanding, or any theories about or . As we say, the rubber must hit the road.📝

It’s nice to align with people who get you. But the real work is aligning with yourself around the people who don’t why you.

Can you continually align with your truth regardless of your environment? A powerful question to ask yourself. 🪐✨

Going to Ghana becoming an entrepreneurial farmer. Sounds like a downgrade from my life in the west? Well does not to me. Rather feels like a whole lot of aligning - with myself.
