"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

I love today's beatitude. It draws a distinctive line between making peace and keeping peace. To make peace is to actively or proactively initiate the process but keeping peace is desire with no action and often a laid back approach which sweeps issues under the carpet, resorts to silent treatment and often looks like peace until it eventually explodes.

Jesus calls us to actively participate in His kingdom by making peace. Peacemaking may look ugly before it turns beautiful. It may be painful until comforting and it may be conflicting before peaceful. However it looks, this is our cue to actively and prayerfully take steps where we have layed back. 'Minding your business' may look like peacemaking until things explode around you. May the Lord help us. Be blessed
