One of the most remarkable achievements of ancient Greek architecture was not a temple. It was six women.
Nearly 2,500 years ago, the Caryatids of the Erechtheion were sculpted to support the roof of the temple, replacing traditional stone columns with graceful female figures, an architectural masterpiece that continues to stand out to this day.
