Just dropping in after another quiet spell to share the announcement that I finally finished knitting my first jumper! *Insert happy dance here!* 😁

I started this jumper back in 2021 and kept stashing it because I would get bored or busy with knitting stock to sell, but I was determined to finish it this year, and I sewed in the final ends this morning! 🪡

Ok, I know I still need to block it, but that will have to wait for better weather so I can dry it, in the meantime though - I'm pretty chuffed! 🎉

This is the Incredible, Custom-fit Raglan Sweater design by Pamela Costello with size calculations, a modified v-neck and double stranding the yarn with the second yarn changing on each row between three different autumnal colours (from .and.the.squid ). 🧶

Jumper progress! 🧶

I can't believe I started this jumper all the way back in 2021!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I really went all out when I picked the Incredible, Custom-fit Raglan Sweater design by Pamela Costello with size calculations, a modified v-neck and double stranding the yarn with the second yarn changing on each row between three different autumnal colours (from .and.the.squid ). 😬

I probably couldn't have gotten much more complicated if I tried for my first jumper... unless I added cables! 🤣

But I kept getting bored of working on such a big piece and distracted by work-knitting so it disappeared further and further down into the stash. 📦

However, the jumper's back, and maybe this year I'll actually get it finished! 🤞

In a world of black and white, be the vibrant stroke of red. ♥️

I'm probably contradicting this with the grey jumper and generally only ever wearing black, but tough! 🤫🤣

I've only bought this colour a handful of times but when I do I really enjoy what it turns into. I've still got some left over too, just need to decide what to make with it! 💭

I spent yesterday evening labelling everything up, so once I find a big enough packet they'll be away in the post! 📦

Coastal colours! 🌊

Since we're parked up near the sea, down on the south coast of England at the moment I thought I'd share these lovely mixed blue pieces! 🌅

I haven't used this particular yarn in years but I do love how the colours come through the pattern. 🩵💙🩵

Leaves are falling, autumn is calling 🍁

As much as I love the warm weather and long nights of summer I always feel like there's something a little magical about autumn. 🌟

The berries on the bushes and leaves changing colour has also given me a bit of a kick to get back to my knitting, and take proper photos of some of my knits from earlier in the year. 🧶

I'm going to try and get a couple more pieces made before shipping the latest batch up to Orkney to sell, but in the meantime I'd better get sharing what I currently have in stock! 🧣

Summer knitwear! 🧶
It's been a little while since I last posted (which I know I've said in a lot of my most recent posts) but as I've had so little time to knit this year. Things have been super busy between our business as well as setting up ...and we built a new home! Unfortunately with so much to do something had to give. 🌪️

But this month I've been trying to get back into my knitting and, while I've been working on stock to send to my mother-in-law's shop in Orkney, I realised I never took any photos of this top I made over a year ago!! 🤯

So I made the most of some quiet time today and snuck off into the trees for a couple of photos. I really like the mix of greens and purples in this! I don't always have the patience to make more complicated pieces like these or the shawls but I love the results! 😅

Spring knits 🌱

Ok, so the colours are a little more autumnal than spring-like, but honestly why let that stop you from wearing whatever colours you like whenever you like?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

This set is perfect at this time of year. It's still pretty cold but we're starting to see some warmer spells and the sun is showing up more and more. 👀

Cowls, headbands and wristwarmers are the perfect compromise between fending off the cold wind and not overheating when that pretty ball of light in the sky shows up! 🌞

Headband weather ❄️

This winter feels like it's already been going for months and months! Ok, that might be because it's been a few years since I've spent the winter in the UK but still - this cold and damp isn't fun at all! 🙈

Luckily I can hide inside by the fire and make lots of cosy knitwear like this cable headband. This one could pass as two totally different headbands with how the colours have worked out - with the blue and chocolatey brown on one side, and a combination of paler and richer browns on the other side. 🤎💙🤎

An oldie but a goodie! 🤎

Ok so I know I've been saying how much I love the new yarn I've been working with (the tweedy beanies from the last couple of posts) but you can't beat some of these variegated yarns. 🧶

I've been using these self-striping yarns since I first started knitting and I just love how the colours work together, especially with this earthy mix colourway! 😍

So here it is, on my classic cable beanie which I finished a couple of weeks back. These were basically like last photos I managed to get before the weather turned weird again - it got really bright and started raining at the same time! 🌦️

Oh and I don't think I've mentioned it for a while but I'm no longer doing commissions as it's too complicated tracking down the correct yarn when I'm on the move. The usual plan is to knit a whole batch of knitwear and then ship it up to my mother-in-law's shop in Orkney. This means I don't hold stock for very long, so if you see something you like, don't hang about. 😅

🌟 New colours! 🌟

I dived straight into the yarn delivery when it arrived last week and tested out the new heathery colours I ordered. I really like the tones and think the tweedy colours work great on this pattern. 🧶

The detachable bobbles still need to be added to finish them off, but I'm pretty pleased with the result. Definitely think I'll be ordering more of this yarn in the future! 💜
