Because of my job, I’ve been lucky enough experience ‘ best swim of my life’ at least 10 times in my life. Filippoi Beach, Zakynthos, was one of them.
We hired a car and just drove, hunting for the quieter, untouched corners of the island. Pebbled shore, glassy turquoise water, barely another soul in sight. ( until the snorkelling tours arrive in the afternoon) so my top tip is to arrive early.
