Yet, the moment the lens was framed against the ancient temple, the city's noise and the oppressive heat seemed to instantly vanish.

Just wrapped up a deeply enjoyable short getaway to Amsterdam! ✈️ This time, I brought along my new favorite—the Funleader Artizlab Classic 35mm f/1.4 lens—paired with the classic Leica M240 for a pure street photography experience. 📸 The crisscrossing canals and historic architecture are breathtaking from every angle! 🧱🚲

My shooting style this trip was incredibly simple and straightforward: I set the aperture to f/8 ⚙️ and took advantage of zone focusing. No fussing over focus—just pure "point and shoot" to capture the city's authentic rhythm and light on the fly! 🏃‍♂️💨

"Why does a silver lens come with a black lens hood?" 🤔

Recently, quite a few fellow photographers have asked this question after receiving their Artizlab 35mm f/1.4 Classic. Far from a random pairing, this design choice is actually a purposeful tribute to the legendary 1960s Leica M35/1.4 V2 lens.

According to Leica’s historical archives, the original M35/1.4 V2 produced in that era was most iconic for its striking black-and-silver contrast—featuring a silver lens body paired with a black vented lens hood. To faithfully preserve this genuine 1960s vintage aesthetic, Artizlab chose to stay true to the original lineage, deliberately retaining this classic combination.

Whether mounted on the timeless Leica M240 or the latest generation M11, the understated, solid lines and distinct contrast match the soul of the M system perfectly. This isn't just a lens; it’s a revival of a 1960s legend brought back to the modern day.
