At DAKOTA, we are immensely proud to be the official T-shirt sponsor for HKUST’s inaugural Pioneers Summer Camp—a 2-day campus retreat celebrating the University’s upcoming 35th Anniversary with alumni and their families! 👕✨

The action-packed weekend featured exciting activities for all ages:

DAKOTA Meets with RE-UP Management to Explore Closed-Loop Fashion Opportunities ♻️

DAKOTA recently held a productive meeting with the top management of RE-UP, a company specialising in advanced textile recycling and regenerated fibre technology.

The discussion focused on potential synergies in advancing closed-loop fashion—a model where post-consumer garments are collected, processed, and transformed into new fibres, significantly reducing landfill waste, water usage, and reliance on virgin materials. 🌍💧

Closed-loop fashion stands in contrast to the traditional linear "take-make-dispose" model. By keeping materials in use for as long as possible, it represents a more responsible and resource-efficient approach to textile production.

While no formal agreement has been announced at this stage, DAKOTA views this initial engagement as a positive step toward understanding how circular solutions could be integrated into our supply chain. Further updates will be shared as discussions progress. 🤝

Strengthening Partnerships in Egypt 🇪🇬

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Jacqui Gray and Gokmen Degirmenci from MS Mode to Egypt, where they visited our partner production units and fabric mill. It was a very productive visit and a great opportunity to exchange ideas around sourcing, product development, and potential areas of future cooperation.

MS Mode is a well-known European fashion retailer focused on stylish, comfortable, and accessible fashion for curvy women. Their commitment to quality, fit, and inclusive design makes collaboration and open dialogue with production partners especially valuable.

During the visit, we also highlighted Egypt’s strong capabilities in textile and fabric manufacturing. With its long-standing cotton heritage, skilled workforce, and vertically integrated production—from spinning and knitting to dyeing and garment manufacturing—Egypt continues to be a reliable sourcing hub for high-quality fabrics and garments.

As a follow-up to the opening of our Türkiye Liaison Office, we are pleased to welcome two highly experienced professionals who further strengthen Dakota’s global capabilities across production, quality, and technical excellence.

Moustafa Eid joins Dakota as Country Manager – Egypt, bringing nearly 30 years of hands-on experience in garment manufacturing, factory management, and quality assurance. With a strong background working with leading global brands such as GAP, VF, and PVH, Moustafa will lead our Egypt operations, focusing on production performance, quality standards, and supplier development as we continue to invest and grow strategically in the region.

Seda Cantözün joins us as Senior Garment Technologist. With over 10 years of experience at H&M, Seda has worked extensively across jersey, woven products, and socks, and brings strong expertise in fit, construction, workmanship standards, and quality follow-upthroughout the collection and development process. Going forward, she will support our teams with a strong focus on efficient sample development, collection readiness, and production follow-up.

With Türkiye as our coordination hub, Egypt as a strategic production platform, and a strengthened global team in place, Dakota continues to build a service-driven, agile, and technically strong organization—focused on long-term partnerships, quality ex*****on, and responsible growth.
