We recently gathered to honor a proud yet bittersweet milestone — celebrating the graduating Class of 2026 (KH28) from the Kellogg‑HKUST EMBA Program.

These leaders may already be high‑flying senior executives, yet they dared to keep climbing. Even with demanding careers and family responsibilities pulling their time, they decided to pause, invest, and stretch themselves further. For 18 months, across 18 weekends and 4 full weeks, they poured over 420 hours into rigorous study, all to become stronger leaders of themselves.

That spirit of resilience and lifetime learning was echoed in the words of our guest of honor, Ms. Bonnie Y Chan, CEO of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX):

“In our careers, no matter how high we rise, we will continue to come across opportunities to take on roles that will stretch us. You will never be 100% ready. But I believe that by keeping an open mind, committing to continuous learning, and surrounding oneself with smart people, you'll be amazed at how much further you can go.”

Ms. Chan’s message was a powerful reminder that growth is a lifelong climb, one our graduates have already begun with courage and conviction.
One challenge conquered, many more ahead. We look forward to the bold ideas our graduates will champion, the teams they will inspire, and the impact they will make across industries and communities.

Congratulations again, KH28! The world is your stage, go rock it. 💜

Think of a rocket that’s already soared high, then pauses to refuel for an even bigger launch. For Nupur Bahl (Class of 2026), Vice President at Reliance Industries Ltd., that moment came when she left behind familiar networks and pursued the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA.

From Mumbai, Nupur has spent two decades architecting large-scale initiatives in education, employment and public health. At this stage of her career, she recognized an inflection point and saw the need to deepen her expertise in finance, strategy, and leadership, particularly in a world where artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and competitive advantage. She also sought an international program that would allow her to see leadership practices outside India.

The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA became the turning point in her transformation. Immersed in a global classroom, Nupur collaborated with peers from industries far beyond the scope of her daily work. Each assignment offered a window into how leaders across sectors think and act, pushing her to unlearn, to question assumptions, and to embrace multidimensional problem-solving.

Equally powerful was the community she discovered. “KH has given me something invaluable — a space where ambitious women and men come together to support each other, challenge norms, and rethink leadership models,” Nupur shares.

Upon graduation, Nupur leaves not only with a degree but with lessons, networks, and perspectives that last a lifetime. Watch the full interview with Nupur and learn how she brings global insights home: https://youtu.be/BMP2zf9TBnA

Luke Riley, Class of 2026 (Cohort KH28), brought his Oceania roots into Asia's fast-moving business landscape — a perspective few leaders share. That global identity made his choice of Hong Kong, and the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA, both strategically sharp and deeply personal. Standing shoulder to shoulder with New York and London, Hong Kong proved the ideal home for a program consistently ranked among the best in the world.

The program delivered on every front. Luke's cohort spanned 14 nationalities and 18 industries, creating a network as diverse as it was invaluable. The classroom became a space for real-world exchange, where seasoned practitioners shared lessons he could apply directly to executive decision-making. "It's phenomenal," he says. "It's the only place you can get it. It's here in the EMBA."

Luke emerged a more rounded, polished leader — walking into meetings with sharper perspective and greater confidence. The program's rigor challenged him, but the ability to put learning into practice immediately saved both time and resources.

Looking back, Luke sees the EMBA as far more than 18 months of study. It's a lifelong investment in leadership, a network that keeps expanding, and a foundation for growth that lasts well beyond graduation.

Think of a compass that never points north — that’s Francesco D’Isep (Class of 2026).

Born in Italy, now based in Shanghai as General Manager of Retail for EssilorLuxottica Greater China, he has spent most of his 15-year career moving across countries and industries, learning to lead in places far from home.

When he decided to pursue an EMBA, Francesco wanted a program that echoed his journey and could challenge him as much as it could inspire him. Hong Kong, at the crossroads of Asia-Pacific, offered the vantage point he was looking for. The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA stood out not only for its international DNA but also for the caliber of its cohort, a community of senior managers and entrepreneurs whose diverse experiences brought depth to every discussion.

The experience pushed him to stretch beyond familiar frameworks, to question long-held assumptions, and to sharpen his ability to see strategy through a truly global lens.

“The program bursts the bubble of similar mindsets,” he says. “It brings fresh perspectives and innovative thinking that add new dimensions to a familiar picture, making it fuller and more complete.

The impact of an 18-month world-class EMBA lasts far longer. For Francesco, bursting the bubble opened a bigger world yet to be seen. Watch the full interview to step into that vision: https://youtu.be/YkZ_tp618ow

Each year, the graduating class of the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA Program upholds a cherished tradition: selecting their favorite faculty member for the Best Faculty of the Year Award.

At this year’s graduation ceremony, the spotlight shone on Prof. Jaideep Sengupta, Synergis-Geoffrey YEH Professor of Business and Chair Professor of Marketing at HKUST, who earned the award for the second time. His recognition underscores not only his academic excellence but also his ability to inspire and connect with students on a personal level.

Winning this award is a remarkable achievement, given the caliber of the faculty members within the program. True to the program’s high-impact, low-ego culture, Prof. Sengupta humbly credited his students for the honor: “They are smart, highly knowledgeable, and richly experienced. But despite all of that, they remain grounded, authentic individuals with whom it is a joy to interact.”

Prof. Sengupta taught the course “Understanding Consumers Psychology”, which resonated deeply with the Class of 2026 (KH28). John Simpkins, Executive Director and General Counsel of Hongkong Land Ltd. and class ambassador, noted Prof. Sengupta’s remarkable way of inspiring through both knowledge and character: “He connected with each of us personally when he was teaching us. He hung out with us during rest times, rather than going off into a separate room for faculty to relax. Prof. Sengupta not only taught us consumer psychology, but also the power of being a genuinely humble, highly impactful, and very kind person.”

Prof. Sengupta’s recognition reflects the broader strength of the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA faculty, whose commitment to academic rigor and authentic connection consistently shapes the program’s global reputation. Year after year, these world-class faculty challenge, inspire, and empower executives to think differently, lead authentically, and drive meaningful change globally.
