兩位店主從英國回流返港,
睇住伴我地成長既人情味小店都被連鎖品牌吞噬,
一式一樣既街頭巷尾同商場成了主流選擇。
有感香港既生活模式, 思想習慣都存在唔少文化差異。
於是2014年12月成立左SmogUp (前身 Black Gold Label),
同小眾分享著我地既生活態度,作為分享思想設計既第一歩。
“ SMOGUP ”
Smog直接翻譯是霧霾，是污染，
而當中亦包括社會上的歪理和負能量，
我們為了生存必須把空氣連同污染物吸入身體，影響深遠。
Up代表我們相信頭上是一片藍天，
無論現在社會污染有多嚴重，
只要一直努力往上衝，就可呼吸到想要的新鮮空氣，
會是另一個新世界。
SmogUp既T-shirt都係自家設計, 主題分為逆主流文化, 環保主意, 圖像設計, 幽默諷刺4部分.
當中既題材都係身邊一d我地以為係根深蒂固，
不可或缺或不可改變既事物，
但其實好值得我地反
省同反思，
例如乜野係金錢，乜野係名牌，乜野係生活，環境污染，兩性關系等等唔同類型既題目
我地希望用有限既能力,
藉著玩味諷刺既設計將信息融合到tshirt上,
喚醒被遺忙戓未被關心既人同事,
令身邊既人反思, 產生共鳴, 苦中作樂,
將訊息帶俾顧客同佢地身邊既人，
從而令大家對呢d題目重新思考同定位
藉此開拓一條有自己獨立思想既服裝品牌
We are just normal people. We are the same as you all, waking up in the same room every day, walking the same path every day, doing the same thing day by day, week by week, year by year….. WE ARE LIVING IN A WORLD WITH DECISION MAKING
We learn our knowledge from our textbook, discover the world from our textbook. Then we work and work and work for nothing more just like a machine, in exchange for pieces of paper that we desperately need to feed ourselves, but who is controlling the price of those pieces of paper holding in our hand? Ourselves or somebody else? The ads keep brain washing us that we have a happier life after spending, but do we really feel better when having a new iphone or a fancy car? Advancing technology makes it easier for us to communicate via social media, view your post or give a like to a stranger, but do we really have a better relationship with your friends, your family or anyone close to you? The media keeps telling us the world is dying, asking us to save the world, does the air get any fresher and does the drinking water become any cleaner? Most people say YES to the questions above and we are being taught that following the mainstream is the fastest, the best or even the only way to be successful, that it is the way of living generated after years and years of experience, but is that what we are after in our lives? We don’t! These unhealthy brainwashing trends are like SMOG pollution surrounding us, which we unavoidably breathe in together with air, leading us to lose our own thoughts and even ourselves. SmogUp believes clothing is not only about fashion or showing the value of yourself, but also showing your own character, expressing your own thoughts and influencing the people around us. SmogUp believes that as long as we keep our masks on and keep striving upward, there is always a clear sky above us and a new world ahead of us.
