AWARE by Printa SS19 – New Roots
Our new collection unites traditional artisanal methods with contemporary design principles.
We paired locally made and organic textiles with modern and forward-looking fabrics to create environmentally friendly and comfortable clothes that allow the wearer to breathe, to feel alive. In addition to upcycled materials, we also used new, innovative textiles that make our zero-waste tailoring techniques possible. The pieces might look understated, but their unique patterns and handmade screen prints make them one of a kind; the colors evoke the evening sky and bright sunshine.
Carefully worked out details, upcycled elements and variable shapes characterize the assembly. Raw canvas, soft tencel and vintage leather are grouped into new forms. The outfits are accented by unique bags and handmade accessories.
The planning process was accompanied by opportunities that arose by chance. We accepted them gratefully - after all, nature works with accidents and surprises. We gathered intuitive, lively inspirations, so we came across a community-run bio-garden we chose as a venue for photography. Although we are very different at first sight, we have the same motivation: we are both working to create a cleaner, livable, transparent, conscious world in every aspect of life. So we could strengthen each other in our joint project, which we hope is the first chapter of a new series. Our goal is to pass on lasting values beyond our products, and we will be happy to communicate together with similar minded local producers and craftsmen.
