Kristian Steinberg

Kristian Steinberg A dreamer and a passionate perfectionist. He is a notoriously fanatic perfectionist!

Kristian Steinberg was born 1976 in Tallinn, Estonia. 1989 the family fled Soviet Union to find refuge and a new life in Sweden. Kristian “discovered” fashion while studying chemistry at the Royal University of Technology in Stockholm, and during his 3rd year, was offered a place as an honorary student at the University Collage of Arts Craft and Design. After a year of projects in textile arts, fi

ne art and drawing, Kristian went on to do two years of pattern cutting and tailoring at the famous Stockholm Academy, which being a strict institution of traditional cutting and tailoring, proved to have most interesting effect on Kristian’s flamboyant style. When he came to Central St Martins in London, Kristian continued to develop a strong signature of “anatomical cutting” and “ultra tailoring”while working for designers like Alexander McQueen and Rafael Lopez. It is also here it become clear that music would be Kristian’s constant muse and he described his collections as; “borne out of music, lives like a Rock Star, and dies when the last fan has died.”

Kristian’s final collection at St Martins was a Marilyn Manson inspired experiment in tailoring and silhouette, and after a successful press show, he was invited to represent St Martins men’s wear at Weekend Le Vif fashion show in Brussels. The collection also caught the attention of Brett Anderson, the former front man London Suede, who joined Billy-Bob Thornton in wearing Steinberg.
