Fashion as a bridge between heritage, sustainability, and innovation ✨

Our latest Scopus-indexed publication explores how participatory fashion design can sustain Traditional Cultural Expressions through Lasem-inspired fashion collections.

Through collaboration between academics, artisans, communities, and industry, fashion becomes more than aesthetics — it becomes a platform for cultural preservation and sustainable creative ecosystems.

This research also raises an important reflection:
When using local cultural values in fashion, will the creative process preserve the culture — or unintentionally harm the communities behind it?
